Street name history on signs – Svedala Municipality 2022-3401

About the project

Street signs with historical information about street names will be set up around the municipality. QR codes with readings of the same information will be produced and placed in connection with the signs. An in-depth book about the street names will be produced as well as a book for children about Svedala's history. The project will be inaugurated with guided tours and festive book releases. The project is carried out in collaboration with the local heritage association in the municipality. The purpose has three parts: to act as an educational initiative, to contribute to increased attractiveness for the tourism industry, to improve competence within municipal hospitality.

The project will contribute to increased education by making Svedala municipality's history accessible. The tourism industry will increase its attractiveness through easily accessible, aesthetic information in new products. The project will be implemented in collaboration between actors in various fields: local heritage associations, the municipality's tourism industry, the municipality's department for culture and leisure, and entrepreneurs within the municipality. In the long run, the brand Söderslätt is strengthened by making a valuable part of Skåne's history accessible. The project will enhance the historical competence of the project's actors and increase collaboration between the parties. This will improve hospitality within tourism, in inter-municipal cooperation, and for the municipality's residents.
